The operator of this site takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this data protection declaration.
This data protection declaration clarifies the type, scope and purpose of the processing (including collection, processing and use, including consent) of personal and other data within our online offer and the websites, functions, and content associated with it (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "online offer" or “website”). The data protection declaration is valid regardless of the domains, systems, platforms and devices used (e.g. desktop or mobile) on which the online offer is executed.

A complete protection of data from third-party access is not possible.

In case your personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of such advertising; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is connected to such direct advertising. Some of the websites use so-called cookies. Cookies do no damage to your computer and contain no viruses. Cookies serve to make our services more user-friendly, more effective, and safer. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser the next time you visit.
You can adjust the settings in your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases, or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- browser type and version
- operating system used
- referrer URL
- host name of the accessing computer
- time of the server request
These data cannot be assigned to specific people. This data is not merged with other data sources. The IP addresses are only saved insofar as is necessary to provide our services. Otherwise, the IP addresses will be deleted or anonymized. Our provider stores your IP address when you visit our website for a maximum of 7 days to detect and prevent attacks. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we receive the knowledge of specific indications of illegal use.
Personal data is collected by us if you provide it to us voluntarily, for example if you contact us. Of course, we will only use the personal data transmitted to us for the purpose for which you made it available to us when you contacted us. This information helps us to clarify your request and to improve the handling of your request. This information is explicitly given on a voluntary basis and with your consent. Insofar as this concerns information on communication channels (e.g. email address, telephone number), you also consent to us contacting you via this communication channel, if necessary, to answer your request.
You can of course withdraw and cancel your declaration of consent at any time for the future. Please contact us for this.
Duration of storage
We will only store your contact and traffic data for as long as is necessary for our services. If the data is required to meet existing statutory, statutory, or contractual retention periods (e.g. invoices), this data is also stored in accordance with the statutory provisions.
We have taken extensive technical and organizational precautions to protect your data from accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or access by unauthorized persons. Our security procedures are regularly checked and adapted to technological progress. We use authentication and authorization procedures to ensure as far as possible that unauthorized persons have no access to your personal data or use unauthorized services that are reserved for you.
This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as inquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http: //" to "https: //" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Objection to advertising emails
We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the framework of the imprint obligation for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as spam e-mails.
Links to other websites
Our online offer contains links to other websites. We have no influence on whether their operators comply with data protection regulations.
Social media links
We have our own social media pages for the third-party providers that can be reached via links from this website. By using the links you get to the respective websites of the third party providers (e.g. Xing, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+). As soon as you have accessed the third-party website, you are in the area of responsibility of the respective third-party provider, so that their data protection declaration and their declarations on data use also apply. We have no influence on this, but to avoid unnecessary data transfer before using a corresponding link, we recommend logging out of the respective third-party provider so that it may not be possible to use the link. User profiles can be created by the third party.
There is no Google Analytics tracking on our website.
Google Web Fonts
This page uses so-called web fonts from Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you access a website, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. However, it does not connect to the Google servers, but accesses our hosting server. As a result, Google is not aware that Google Fonts have been accessed via your IP address. However, our hosting provider gains knowledge of your IP address when using the website. The handling of your IP address is described in the Server Log Files section of this data protection declaration.
Google Web Fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.
This site uses so-called web fonts, which are provided by Fonticons, Inc., for the uniform display of fonts. When you access a website, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to the Fonticons, Inc. servers. This gives Fonticons, Inc. knowledge that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Web fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.
Use of jQuery
On this page we use jQuery technologies, which optimizes the loading speeds and certain functions can be offered. In this regard, program libraries are called up by Google servers. The CDN (content delivery network) from Google or jQuery is used. If you previously used jQuery on another page from Google CDN or jQuery, your browser will use the cached copy. If this is not the case, this requires downloading, data from your browser reaching the provider. Your data will be transferred to the USA. You can find out more on the websites of the providers.
Online presence in social media
We have set up online presences in social networks to communicate with users, interested parties, and customers via these channels and to be able to inform them about our editorial offer, current events, and our services.
In this context, we would like to point out that the data of users of these pages can be processed by the provider of the respective service outside the European Union. It is possible that this may result in risks for the user, for example because it might be more difficult to enforce their rights. With regard to US providers that are certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield, we would also like to point out that they are also committed to complying with EU data protection standards.
In addition, the data of users of social networks are usually processed for market research and advertising. This means that user profiles are created based on usage behavior and the preferences and interests derived from it. Such user profiles can finally be used, for example, to place advertisements that potentially match the assumed interests of the respective user within the corresponding social network and on other online presences. So-called cookies (small text files) are usually stored on users' devices, which can be used to collect data on user usage behavior and bundle it for further processing to determine interests. These data can be collected and bundled, in particular in the case of logged-in members of the respective social network, across several end devices used by a user.
The processing of personal user data takes place against the background of our legitimate interest in effective information and direct communication with the users of our offer in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. If the users of the respective providers of the services are asked for their consent to the data processing and have given their consent by marking a check box or clicking a button provided for this purpose, the legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR.
In the event of requests for information or the use of other user rights, we would like to point out that such inquiries are to be addressed most directly to the providers of the respective service. Only they have access to the stored data and can provide the relevant information and, if necessary, take further measures. If users need help to exercise their rights, they can also contact us.
A detailed description of the processing of data by the providers of the social networks we use and the corresponding options for objection (opt-out) can be found in the information provided by the respective provider:

We reserve the right to change the data protection declaration in order to adapt it to changes in the legal situation, or in the event of changes to the online offer or data processing. However, this only applies to explanations of data processing. If user consent is required or parts of the data protection declaration contain provisions of the contractual relationship with the users, the changes will only be made with the consent of the user. The users are therefore asked to stay informed regularly about such changes, especially if they continue to provide personal information.
